Clogging belongs to the big
family of step dances. Clogging is derived from different
European folk dances. At first, it was danced in
the apalaches mountains in the United States. In
the 1930s and 1940s it became "modern clogging".
You can learn how to clog everywhere in Germany.
It is easy since there are only eight steps. Combining
these steps to figures is all there is to it. We
dance with “taps”, irons similar to those
used by step-dancers. We do not learn choreograhies
by heart, the “Instructor” (just like
the caller for square dancing) tells you what comes
next.
